Birmingham Bulls announce 2024-25 schedule

PELHAM – After dominating on the ice last season, the defending SPHL regular season champions, the Birmingham Bulls, have announced their triumphant return for Friday, Oct. 18 with an opening night showdown against their in-state rival, the Huntsville Havoc.

Other notable home games during the season include a Friday night battle against the Evansville Thunderbolts, the team that knocked the Bulls out of the playoffs last season, as well as face-offs against the Huntsville Havoc on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20 and Presidents’ Day on Monday, Feb. 17.

This upcoming season, the Bulls will return to the ice under the leadership of head coach Craig Simchuk, now the back-to-back winner of the SPHL Coach of the Year for the past two seasons, and associate head coach Kevin Kerr, after signing both to multi-year contracts over the summer.

Under their leadership, the Birmingham Bulls finished as the 2023-24 regular season champions with a 38-9-9 record. The Bulls beat their former team records from the 2018-19 season of most points with a total of 85 points and fewest goals allowed with 132 goals.
