Helena Market Days to return in June

By MACKENZEE SIMMS | Staff Writer

HELENA – Helena Market Days, the annual summer farmers market, will return to the Helena Amphitheater this Saturday, June 1 and continue every weekend until the end of August.

According to the official website for the city of Helena, the classic farmers market will occur every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon and feature a variety of local vendors with everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to handmade items.

“Helena Market Days is a venue for local farmers and producers to sell fresh vegetables, flowers, honey, bread, woodworking, handmade bread, peanut butter, jams, jellies, soaps, baked goods and more,” Read a post on the city of Helena’s website. “We also have coffee and teas and something new all the time to sell directly to residents of Helena, Alabama and its neighboring cities.”

According to event volunteers, the summer market season will have a few special events and featured guests, but nothing official has been announced.

While the market has traditionally been held at the Helena Amphitheater, last year the market switched locations to The Church at Old Town. This summer, Helena Market Days will return to the amphitheater at 4151 Helena Road, Helena, AL.
