Chamber to host 29th annual prayer breakfast

FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Shelby County Chamber will host its 29th annual prayer on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.

According to Shelby County Chamber President Kirk Mancer, the annual prayer breakfast started in 1996 as a way for community members to gather and be thankful.

“This event is designed for business and community leaders to join together in fellowship, celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings,” Mancer said. “It’s also a time to reflect on what’s truly important in life and what inspires us to make a difference in the lives of others.”

This year, the program will feature Laurie Stroud Franklin, the owner and publisher of Birmingham Christian Family Magazine which is celebrating its 25th year of publishing.

Started in 2000, the Birmingham Christian Family was borne out of Franklin’s desire to create a local Christian community publication to provide her children with a Christian environment. Now, 24 years later, Christian Family Publication franchise creates publications throughout the Southeast.

At the prayer breakfast, breakfast for investors costs $35 per person. For investors, the price is reduced to $25 per person.

Those interested in learning more about the event or those wishing to register can visit Shelbychamber.org or contact the Shelby County Chamber by phone at 205-663-45-42 or by email at info@shelbychamber.org.
