Albert L. Scott Blood Drive

ALABASTER – The Albert L. Scott Library has partnered with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers to host a blood drive this month, as local hospitals once again face a blood shortage from the COVID-19 pandemic. The library will hold the blood drive on Monday, Jan. 31. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Make-A-Puppy Plushy Program

NORTH SHELBY – Join the North Shelby Library for a fun dog-themed story and then walk participants through making their own winter plushy puppy friend on Monday, Jan. 31. HomeGoods Grand Opening

ALABASTER – A new HomeGoods is opening in Alabaster on Thursday, Feb. 10. The retail store will open in Colonial Promenade South, next door to Five Below. The company’s website said the new location will be open from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. before normal hours start the following day.

Ultra Donut Dash

PELHAM – Join Zombie Trail Races for its Donut Dash 5k at OMSP on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 9 a.m. Runners will eat three donuts during the race. Each participant must finish their donut before running to the next stop. Details at Zombie Trail Races Facebook.

Calera’s Daddy Daughter Dance

CALERA – A fun-filled evening with DJ Fuzzy, desserts and photographs. Saturday, Feb. 5 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Rolling Hills Gymnasium. Girls pre-k to 8th grade welcome.
