Though no candidates are on the ballot this year, two statewide amendments will be voted on Tuesday, June 5.
Amendment 1 deals with how many bonds can be issued to fund economic incentives for new industry.
Gov. Bob Riley backs the proposed law, saying it would help recruit new business.
The second amendment would require money set aside to pay for state retirees&8217; health care to be used for that purpose.
Also, a special Shelby County amendment would allow sheriff deputies to enforce traffic laws inside private gated subdivisions.
