Falcons move up two spots in men’s soccer poll

The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team moved up two spots in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s NCAA Division II poll, which was released Sept. 14.
The Falcons (3-0-1) are now ranked No. 11 in the nation and second in the Southeast Region. Montevallo began the season ranked No. 19 in the nation.
The Falcons battled to a 2-2 tie with Flagler College, which is ranked fifth in the Southeast Region, on the road last week. Montevallo also defeated Eckerd College, which is ranked eighth in the South Region, 2-0 in a neutral site game.
Montevallo is one of just two Peach Belt Conference teams ranked in the top 25. Clayton State University dropped two spots after falling to Lynn last week and is now ranked No. 7. Flagler College began the season at No. 22 but dropped out after the opening week of play.
The Falcons return to action Sept. 14 on the road at the University of Alabama at Huntsville for a non-conference contest. UAH is currently ranked No. 10 in the South Region.
