I was raised in Evergreen, Ala., where my parents taught me that &8220;to whom much is given, much is required.&8221; For 24 years, I have served as a judge, trying cases in 40 of Alabama&8217;s 67 counties, while working throughout the state to help abused and neglected children and to reduce juvenile crime. As chief justice, I will judge each case solely on the facts and the law, while working to improve our judicial system. I will also continue working outside the courtroom to improve the lives of Alabama&8217;s children and families, while teaching my daughter the same values my parents taught me
