Kathleen Johnson was born Sept. 2, 1919, and passed away Aug. 22, 2007 at the age of 87. Sister Kathleen, a prominent longtime resident of Maylene, was a former Maylene postmaster and former pastor and founder of Maylene Chapel Church.

A community memorial service for the late Sister Kathleen will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 at Maylene Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, 9730 Highway 17 in Maylene. The Rev. Waymond Stricklin (664-1438) of Maylene Pentecostal Lighthouse Church and the Rev. Ron Cox of Kingwood Church (663-3933) will be officiating.
