Margaret Cross Karrh

Margaret Cross Karrh, age 74, of Scottsboro, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 16, 2007, at the home of her brother, the Rev. Don Cross of Huntsville. Margaret was born July 9, 1933, in Wilsonville to Willard and Lois Cross. She moved to Scottsboro in 1966 with her husband and two children. Margaret worked at the First National Bank of Scottsboro for many years as a public relations officer, served as an Ambassador with the Scottsboro Chamber of Commerce and was a founding member of the Scottsboro Women’s League.
Margaret is survived by daughter, Debbie Karrh Barclay; and son, Albert C. Karrh Jr.; five grandchildren, Mary Margaret Purdy of Houston, Texas; Capt. James O. Barclay IV of San Antonio, Texas; WOI William Karrh Barclay of Fort Rucker; Albert C. Karrh III; and Harrison Cross Karrh of Huntsville; three great-grandchildren, Jackson and Lily Kate Purdy and Addison Barclay.
She is also survived by her mother, Lois Cross, and five brothers and sisters, Jerry Cross, Betty Cross Jordan, Douglas Cross, Connie Cross Morris and the Reverend Don Cross. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Albert C. Karrh Sr., and father, Willard Cross.
Margaret will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and a cherished friend to all who knew her. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Don Cross officiated. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from noon until funeral time.
