Shelby County football alumni will clash when Alabama and Auburn kickoff their bowl games Dec. 30 and 31. Former Briarwood standout Simeon Castille will line up in the Alabama secondary in the Independence Bowl against Colorado, where Thompson alum Alonzo Barrett lines up at defensive end. The Petrosun Independence Bowl is 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30 on ESPN from Shreveport, La. Briarwood&8217;s Andrew McCain and Spain Park&8217;s Neil Caudle join former Oak Mountain punter Ryan Shoemaker and former Spain Park offensive lineman Ryan Pugh when Auburn meets Clemson in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
