Jenny Miller, executive director of the Shelby Humane Society, will host a rally Friday to garner support for her campaign to win the Beneful Dream Dog Park Contest.

The rally is from 5-7 p.m. at Homewood’s Aloft Hotel, located at 1903 29^th Ave. S. The Birmingham area’s dog-loving community is invited to attend.

Miller is one of 15 finalists in the contest, which asked dog owners: “If you had $500,000 to create a dream dog park for you and your best buddy, what would you do?”

The contest winner gets a $500,000 makeover of a dog park in their area, $10,000 in cash and a year’s supply of Beneful brand dog food.
