Chargers top Autauga Academy

The Cornerstone Christian School volleyball team defeated Autauga Academy 25-13, 25-21, 26-24 in high school volleyball action Aug. 22.
Tamera Kirksey led the Chargers (2-2) with eight kills and 11 service aces.
Lindsey Sims added seven kills in the victory. Jaclyn Largin, who recorded seven service aces, and Nicki Waldrop finished with five assists each.
Cornerstone Christian will meet rival Coosa Valley Academy in the first meeting between the two schools on the volleyball court Aug. 25.
The Rebels are fielding a volleyball for the first time in school history this fall.
“We have always enjoyed the rivalry in football, basketball, softball and baseball with CVA,” Sims said. “I look forward to adding volleyball to the great competition our schools share.”
