A Dora man died at UAB Hospital May 22 after he was involved in a wreck on Alabama 25 near Columbiana May 17.

Paul Spain, 36, of Dora, died at University Hospital nearly a week after his 2002 GMC Yukon collided with a 1999 Freightliner truck about 1 mile north of Columbiana on Alabama 25.

Spain was a college pastor at the Empire Church of God in eastern Walker County.

The wreck happened at about 7 a.m. on May 17, and emergency personnel transported Spain to the hospital immediately after the collision.

The driver of the Freightliner, 70-year-old Rot Horton of Columbiana, was not injured in the wreck.

As of May 24, Alabama State Troopers were still investigating the wreck.
