Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Emfinger celebrated their 50th anniversary Feb. 5, 2008. A reception was held Feb. 3 at Aldrich First Baptist Church. The party was hosted by the children and grandchildren of the couple. More than 100 of their closest friends and family were in attendance, some of who were there when the couple originally married.
On display were pictures from the couple’s life together and their original marriage license. There was a slideshow created in the couple’s honor. Also on display, was the bride’s original dress.
The Emfingers are very involved in their church, which is Aldrich First Baptist Church. They own and operate The Aldrich Coal Mine Museum.
They are the parents of four children, Henry A. Emfinger Jr. (deceased), Varonica (Kenneth) Bailey, Kerry (Terisa) Emfinger, and Rachele (Jessie) Lewis, all of Montevallo. They are also the grandparents of eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Alyson and Paul Bailey; Krista, Katherine and Keith Vaughan; and Matthew and Christina Emfinger, all of Montevallo.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who attended and made this occasion very special
