Edith Marie Bennett died Sunday, March 9, 2008. She was the surviving sister of Mildred Bennett Harrison, Helen Bennett Reinhardsen and Ruth Bennett Scymanky. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James and Edward Bennett, and by her parents, Augusta and James Lewis Bennett.

Ms. Bennett was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Savannah and served her church as soloist. She also played piano and sang with the Jewish Synagogue for several years. She worked for years as an officer at C & S Bank in Savannah and later spent her retirement years at Merriwick Florist. After retiring, Edith moved to Columbiana to be with her family, which she was dearly loved.

Her service was held at First Baptist Church in Savannah, Ga. at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2008. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church of Savannah on Bull Street.
