HOOVER – Spain Park’s Vance Curro scored two goals in the 70th minute to rally back and tie the Metro Tournament opener with Oak Mountain. Alex Johnson scored the first goal for Spain Park, while Oak Mountain had goals from Tommy DePriest, John Imwalle and Miah Jones. Mason Lavallet and Stefan Vaziri each had two assists for Oak Mountain, while D.J. Jackson had another. Oak Mountain keeper Trey Anderson had seven assists.

In other games:

-Thompson 1, Gardendale 0:The Thompson Warriors won their first game in Division B with the help of a goal by Jared McKinney, assisted by Dylan Barnett, in the 70th minute.

-Hewitt-Trussville 2, Chelsea 0:Hewitt-Trussville scored two goals in the second half to down Chelsea in Division B. Jesse Adams scored in the 44th minute, followed by Justin Lasagna in the 68th minute. Chelsea keeper Alex Levinson and Hewitt keeper Quang Do each had five saves.

In girls’ regular season action:

-Oak Mountain 6, Pelham 0: Andrea Munoz collected a hat trick, as Oak Mountain defeated Pelham to move to 6-5-3 on the season. Emily Newby scored two goals in the second half. Shannon Latrhrop had a goal and an assist. Morgan Motes, Marisa Tomaszewski and Betty Maciel each had an assist. Pelham keeper Nora Alcano had 15 saves.
