Superior Financial Management Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Superior Bank, announced April 8 that Ronald (Ronny) L. Russell has joined Superior as a vice president and senior investment officer.

Russell will support the investment needs of Superior Bank clients at branches in Greystone, Sylacauga, Childersburg, and, opening in May 2008, the new Chelsea branch. He comes to Superior from SouthFirst Financial Services Inc., where he most recently served as President for more than seven years.

Russell currently resides in the Chelsea area.

He offers a financial literacy program to students in nearby Chelsea, Childersburg and Sylacauga area high schools to educate them on budgeting and the pitfalls of credit card debt as well as other financial life skills
