COLUMBIANA – Jenny Miller, executive director of the Shelby Humane Society, has been selected as one of 20 finalists for Beneful’s Dream Dog Park Contest. If selected as the winner, Miller would receive a $500,000 dog park to be built in the community.

Each finalist in the contest was required to create a video explaining their vision for the dog park and how it would benefit their community of dogs and dog owners. Miller’s vision includes plenty of shade as well as a water area so that dogs can escape the sweltering summer heat. Her video is posted at BenefulDreamDogPark.com, and the public will be able to vote for their favorite once a day, every day.

Voting began Aug. 9 and will run for one month, until Sept. 8.

A panel of judges will also judge all of the finalists’ videos on creativity and feasibility.
