Shelby County farmers were among more than 225 Alabama Farmers Federation members who attended the 2008 Women’s Conference April 13-15 in Birmingham.
Participants heard from Beth VanSickle of Sock Monkey Ministries, a volunteer outreach program for the poor and hurting.
They also participated in workshops on topics ranging from legislative issues and the People Against a Littered State (PALS) program to interior decorating and travel.
As part of the program, the Federation members also attended the Alabama Farm-City Committee Awards, which were held April 14 at the Wynfrey Hotel.
