Funeral service for Estelle Allen, 76, of Calera, was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Bolton-Letlow Chapel with the Rev. Bill Clayton officiating.

Burial followed at Elliottsville-Still Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, April 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen, who passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at her home, was born on Oct. 30, 1931 in Shelby County.

She retired from Shelby County Schools were she was a lunchroom worker for 25 years.

She was a wonderful grandmother with a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her children, Jane (Carson) Vick, Jean (Eugene) Grimes, George (Shelia) Allen; grandchildren, Janet (Joey) Hughes, Michelle (Cullon) Clayton, Brian (Crystal) Allen, Jayda Allen, T. J. Allen; great-grandchildren, Thomas Hughes, Will Clayton, Ginger Clayton, and Hannah Allen and a host of other family and friends.
