But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Matthew 8:26

Storms, good for nothing storms.

“But are they really good for nothing?” It was in fact Jerrod Smith that said, “Think of nature during a storm.” “When the rain comes down from heaven it gives life to every seed sown and strength to every tree that has grown. The wind causes the seeds that have fallen on the face of the earth to travel and strengthens the trees that they may be sturdy in days to come. We may not realize it, but storms are good for our lives, because we are like those seeds and trees.”

The truth is we would have never grown in life, stepped out of our comfort zone, tried new things, accepted the promotion or lived our lives to the fullest had it not been for a storm. In the Matthew chapter eight, Jesus and the disciples were on a boat headed to the other side of the lake when a mighty storm came. The disciples in their fear ran to wake a sleeping Jesus out of his rest, asking him if He even cared if they lived threw the storm. Jesus then rebuked saying, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?”

It here then that we realize Jesus said they have little faith because they allowed fear of the storm to paralyze them and make them afraid. Many times we’re just as guilty, when like the disciples we allow fear to paralyze us in life. So, we really can’t move forward until we began to identify and deal with our fears.

II Timothy 1:7 says, “God has not given us a spirit to fear but power, love and a sound mind.”

Fear doesn’t come from God. Besides fear is just, False Evidence Appearing Real.

“Fear makes us unstable and double minded” says James 1:6-8.

But God’s desire for his people is that we trust in Him.

Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.”

Brothers and sisters conquer your fears, pray and tell God about them, and thanking for hearing your prayers. It was Elton Trueblood that said, “Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservations.”

Friends we can trust that Gods got our situation under control and our storm in mind. Remember this, “don’t tell Him how big your storm is, tell your storm how big your God is.”
