Shelby County’s Jacqueline Head was first among 34 runners in the American Christian Academy trail run at Munny Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa Aug. 30.

The lone girl runner at the event for Shelby County, Head ran a 2.45 mile time of 18:39.38 to beat Amie Lemley of Bryant High, who had a time of 18:45.50 and win the race.

The SCHS boys’ team finished fifth in the run.

Blake Bryant was tenth overall with a 2.45-mile time of 17:08.03. Clint Cox was 13th at 17:32.12, followed by Andrew Justice in 18th at 17:49.38.
