ACS to hold e-day on Jan. 21 due to winter weather

ALABASTER – Alabaster City Schools has announced that it will be hosting an e-day on Tuesday, Jan. 21 due to the oncoming threat of winter weather.
Student will participate in e-learning and all after-school and evening activities will be canceled on Jan. 21. Additionally, all Alabaster City Schools facilities and offices will be closed on Jan. 21.
According to National Weather Birmingham, located in Calera, Shelby County is currently under a cold weather advisory from 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 through 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22. NWS expects wind chills of 5 to 15 degrees and temperatures of 10 to 20 degrees.
NWS recommends that individuals use caution while traveling outside and wear appropriate attire. To prevent freezing and possible bursts of pipes, it is suggested that individuals should wrap or drain pipes or allow them to drip.
