HOOVER – Hoover City Schools will be closed on Friday, Jan. 10 due to the oncoming threat of winter weather.

With both Jefferson and Shelby County at an Elevated Risk for winter weather on Thursday and Friday, all schools and offices will be closed on Jan. 10 for students and employees. All school and after-school activities for Thursday, Jan. 9 are currently set to proceed as normal.

“We hope this early notification allows families to make appropriate plans,” read an official Facebook post by Hoover City Schools. “Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.”

The Spain Park vs. Chelsea and Oak Mountain at Hoover basketball games are currently scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9 and will proceed as planned.
