ALABASTER – Buff City Soap hopes to answer all of its customers’ soap and household needs with a handmade, plant-based twist at its new Alabaster location.
“We are excited to open our newest Buff City Soap makery in Alabaster,” said owner Joni Hayes. “Alabaster has been on our wish list for some time and we were very happy when this location became available for us. We are thrilled to begin engaging with this great community and share our products with the residents of this area just in time for the holidays.”
The opening of a new Buff City Soap in Alabaster at 100 South Colonial Drive, Suite 1400, marks the fourth location to open in the Birmingham area and the second to come to Shelby County after the opening of a Lee Branch location on Highway 280 in 2022.
“Mayor (Scott) Brakefield and the city of Alabaster really helped us work through everything quickly so that we could get open in time for the holidays, and we are thrilled to be serving this part of Shelby County now,” said Rick Hayes, Joni’s husband and founder of Ingenuity, Inc.
Founded in 2013, Buff City Soap is a retail store chain that specializes in handmade products that contain no harsh chemicals or preservatives. Customers are able to watch the business’s team members make a variety of products in the store, including soap bars, foaming hand soaps, body lotions, body butters, shower oils, bath bombs, shower steamers, laundry soaps, laundry scent boosters, candles, car air fresheners and more. When visiting the store, customers may select from more than 30 different scents or create their own.
Buff City Soap has also started scheduling parties for birthdays, ladies night outs, neighborhood gatherings, team-building events, date nights and more. During the parties, attendees may make their own bath bombs, soaps or other products.
“Fundraisers for schools, student groups, sports teams, sororities, church groups and civil organizations are key to Buff City Soap’s efforts to give back to the community,” read an official press release. “These can be either spirit nights or traditional fundraisers where the sponsoring group can create some customized products for its members and supporters.”
Buff City Soap’s college and sorority licensed products were developed in relation to fundraisers for a variety of college and Greek organizations.
