Margaret Gay White, 87, of Columbiana, Alabama, was called home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2024. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, December 21, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana with a funeral service following.
Gay, as she was known, was born on May 23, 1937, to Jessie Estelle Miller and James Cleveland Miller in Laurel, Mississippi.
Gay attended Jones Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi where she met her husband, Milton White. She graduated from Mississippi Southern College where she got her degree in education. She taught for many years and found that teaching was her lifelong passion.
Gay loved Bible study, reading her devotionals every morning, walking, cooking, and volunteering. Gay had a compassionate heart and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was dearly loved by her children and grandchildren.
Gay was a prayer warrior. She loved The Lord and placed her faith and trust in Jesus Christ. One of her favorite sayings was “Your life is a gift from God, how you live it is your gift to Him.”
She is preceded in death by her parents: James & Jessie Miller; her husband: Milton Falkner White; her son: Dr. Milton “Luke” White Jr.; her brother: James Miller; her sister: Mary Miller Robertson; and her twin sister: May Miller Bingham.
Gay is survived by her son: Walter James White; her daughter: Julie Kneipp (Stephen) of Laurel, Mississippi; her grandchildren: Jamie Spielmaker (Connor), Jordan White, Mark Kneipp, Brandon Kneipp, Dr. Nathan White, Ryan White, and Milton “Tripp” White III.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Columbiana.
