STAFF REPORTS
CALERA – With presenting sponsor Collectivus Church, Calera Main Street will hold the sixth annual “Trunk or Treat” festival in downtown Calera on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 from 6-8 p.m.
This year, there will be an early start exclusively for families with children with special sensory needs to go through first to provide a calmer, less overwhelming environment.
Decorated vehicles will be parked all around the newly updated Calera Courtyard behind the downtown shops and 17 Avenue will be closed for the event that night. Food trucks and activities will be across the street from the pavilion in the gravel parking lot.
This event is designed for the whole community. Every church, business, and civic group are encouraged to participate by signing up to bring a trunk, help with activities, donate candy or volunteer for the evening. Every family is invited to bring their children and enjoy the festivities.
Calera Main Street has room for 60 decorated and candy filled trunks in and around the Calera Courtyard located at 1120 17 Avenue. In addition to the trunk or treating, Calera Main Street’s sponsors will have inflatables, fun activities and plenty of food trucks.
Calera Main Street is proud to be a designated Main Street Alabama community. An independent, nonprofit organization, Calera Main Street’s mission is to revitalize its once-bustling downtown business district through a proven four-point approach of design, promotion, organization and economic vitality.
