ALABASTER – Thompson High School’s annual homecoming parade has been canceled due to the threat of rain and inclement weather.

The annual parade was set to take place at THS on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. but Alabaster City Schools announced on Tuesday, Sept. 24 their plans to proactively cancel the event due to forecasted inclement weather.

“As always, safety is our top priority,” read an official release from ACS. “We appreciate your support—and go Warriors.”

The planned community pep rally will still take place; however, it has been moved from Warrior Stadium to inside Warrior Arena. The rally has also been moved up an hour to 6 p.m.

The Warriors will still face off against Clay-Chalkville on Friday, Sept. 27 and the fireworks which were planned for after the community pep rally are now scheduled for after the football game.
