PELHAM – The Pelham Beautification, Entertainment and Arts Team will return to the halls of the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena to present an exciting and interactive experience this September.

With two show nights planned for Sept. 20-21, the Pelham BEAT will present a unique murder-mystery dinner theatre production in conjunction with the local South City Theatre company.

While the Pelham Beat has worked repeatedly with South City Theatre in the past, including their recent collaboration of “Love, Loss and What I Wore,” in May, this planned production will be a step in a relatively new direction for both organizations.

“South City is excited to expand our programming to include interactive murder mysteries and provide our actors the opportunity to stretch their improvisation skills,” said Lisa Ponder, show director.

The show will be a production of Jack Pachuta’s “A Reunion to Die For,” which is set in the midst of a high school class reunion gone awry.

Those in the audience will see their “Enchantment Under the Bay” quickly erode against the waves of a nightmare as they take part in an evening of horror built around a high school class gathering for a 40-year reunion under the same theme of the group’s prom.

Showrunners promise that those involved will uncover long-buried secrets held by the class of 1984 and witness the collision of new-life changes as the head cheerleader, the star quarterback, the former “it” girl, the principal, the success story and other characters fight to conclude an evening not all will survive.

To fit the theme of the interactive show, those attending are encouraged to wear their favorite fashions from the mid-‘80s as they hear their favorite references and enjoy the era’s music  throughout the run of the show.

Dinner will be prepared by the award-winning staff at the Pelham Civic Complex and will include a number of selections produced specially for the event. Alcohol will be present at the show, with a cash bar available and offering a number of drink options.

“We are very grateful to continue our partnership with the Pelham BEAT with our third dinner theatre production together,” Ponder said. “We’ve enjoyed being able to bring our talented actors, directors and crews to a new audience.”

Ticket information for the event is available on the Pelham BEAT Facebook page as well as on Eventbrite.com.
