ALABASTER – Members of the community will gather together to honor the first responders who do so much during the annual Alabaster Police Appreciation Dinner.
This year’s edition of the Alabaster Police Appreciation Dinner will take place on Tuesday, June 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Champy’s Famous Fried Chicken on Highway 119 in Alabaster.
Cpl. John. St. Pierre with the Alabaster Police Department expressed his excitement for the annual event which unites the city’s officers with the community.
“The Alabaster Police Department is very excited about the upcoming appreciation dinner,” St. Pierre said. “This event is one of the highlights of our year, and our officers look forward to it with great anticipation. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a department and community celebrating our officers’ hard work and dedication.”
Each year, the main goal of the dinner is to express the community’s appreciation of the commitment and sacrifices made by officers in the Alabaster Police Department. Participants take the time to honor the first responders in attendance with a meal and gestures of gratitude.
“The Alabaster Police Appreciation Dinner holds immense significance for our officers and their families,” St. Pierre said. “It’s a time when their contributions and efforts are publicly recognized and celebrated. This event allows our officers to reflect on their service and feel valued by the community they protect.”
Alongside individual officers, the event honors the families of local first responders, who sacrifice time with their loved ones who serve in the line of duty.
“For their families, it’s a moment of pride and recognition for the support they provide to their loved ones in uniform, understanding the challenges and risks associated with the job,” St. Pierre said.
St. Pierre also shared that, in addition to honoring officers, the event showcases the strong supportive community that is present in the city of Alabaster. He said that participation and engagement are crucial in building trust, solidarity and a sense of unity.
“We ask all community members to join us in this celebration, as your support is what enables us to carry out our duties effectively,” St. Pierre said. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in organizing, donating and attending this event; your appreciation is invaluable to us.”
