HOOVER – Residents on U.S. Highway 280 can enjoy a new dining option, complete with outdoor patio seating at the new Chick-fil-A on Valleydale Road which is now open.
Chick-fil-A Valleydale officially opened its doors at 5331 Valleydale Road in Hoover on Thursday, May 2. The new Chick-fil-A marks the third restaurant in the chain to be placed along the Hwy 280 corridor following the success of the Inverness and Greystone locations.
“We’re excited to be here,” Director of Operations Kris Walden said. “We’re excited to bring Chick-fil-A to a new community.”
The new Valleydale location offers a distinct twist on services as compared to its two sister locations and does not feature a drive thru but instead focuses on accommodating online ordering, carry out, dine in and curbside pickup. The business also has a catering option for those interested.
“We would like for the community to come and experience our location,” said Kim Meadows, who is the wife of the owner Mark Meadows. “We want to create a community and family atmosphere.”
The business offers an in-door dining area with a community table as well as an outdoor patio for customers to enjoy their meals outside.
“We’re excited and people seem to like it, they like the atmosphere we have and we’re just happy to serve a new community,” Walden said.
The placement of the restaurant allows residents in the Valleydale area to secure a meal without having to cross the traffic of Highway 280.
Mark Meadows is responsible for Chick-fil-A Valleydale, including day-to-day activities of the business which employs approximately 60 full- and part-time team members.
“It’s been over 30 years since I opened my first restaurant and a lot has changed, but the one thing that has remained the same is our commitment to making a positive impact on everyone we encounter,” Meadows said in an official release. “As we open on Valleydale Road, we invite guests to visit us for the delicious food they know and love, and we hope they stay for the warm hospitality that has been our hallmark since day one.”
In celebration of the new opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Community Food Bank of Central Alabama, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new Valleydale restaurant.
Chick-fil-A Valleydale is also participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program which is an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. The restaurant is also recognizing 100 “local heroes” that are making in impact in the Hoover area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Chick-fil-A Valleydale is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday with options for dine-in, carry-out and curbside delivery. Those who wish to keep up to date with the Valleydale location may follow its official Facebook page at Facebook.com/chickfilavalleydale.
