ALABASTER – Alabaster’s annual City Wide Spring Yard Sale is just around the corner and will bring with it another chance for local residents to browse through a number of items sold by their neighbors.
Alabaster will host its annual City Wide Spring Yard Sale on Saturday, April 27 from 8 a.m. until noon with more than 70 booths and additions being made until one week prior.
Community Programs Manager Morgan Lawley said that this year’s yard sale will be bigger than in years past.
“We outgrew our previous locations,” Lawley said. “We have enough room to have almost 100 booths. If anyone is interested in getting a booth, we have plenty of space to fill up the park.”
This year’s event will be held at Veterans Park and each booth is expected to have a variety of items from tools and camping gear to toys and clothing. There will also be a selection of food trucks present for attendees to choose from.
According to Alabaster Public Relations manager Neal Wagner, everyone in attendance will be able to look forward to unique finds at a discount.
“Folks are cleaning out for the spring and looking to get rid of some stuff,” Wagner said. “It’s a great place for folks to come out if they’re treasure hunting.”
While the event serves as an opportunity for thrift finds, it’s also an opportunity to meet neighbors.
“You never know what you’ll find or who you could meet at events like these,” Lawley said. “It’s just a great chance to get out with the community.”
Wagner commended the Alabaster Parks and Recreation team for its efforts in organizing the event each year.
“They do an amazing job organizing this every year,” Wagner said. “They’ve gotten it down to a science with it being one of the bigger events of the year.”
Those interested in a booth space may call the Alabaster Parks and Recreation office at 205-664-6840, or register on the website. Those with a booth reservation must provide their own tables, chairs and tents.
