MONTEVALLO – The University of Montevallo is looking to hire a new chief of police.

Interim Police Chief Chadd Adams currently fills the position. He took over the position when former police chief Shelley Tyree was arrested on domestic violence charges in the third degree on Oct. 26.

“She (Tyree) resigned that position on Nov. 8, 2010,” UM Public Relations Assistant Diane Kennedy-Jackson said. “Chadd Adams has served as the interim since that time. Basically, they are in the process of opening that up for qualified applicants.”
