MONTGOMERY – After a phenomenal season for the Chelsea Hornets, Haley Trotter added another honor to her resume with a spot on the North All-Stars.
Trotter was named to the roster for the North-South All-Star basketball game by the Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association on Wednesday, March 13.
The annual game showcases the top 30 rising seniors in the state of Alabama, divided into the northern and southern regions of the state.
The girls basketball game will take place during the week of July 15-19 in Montgomery as part of North-South All-Star Week. The exact date and time will be announced at a later date.
Trotter won the Shelby County Player of the Year award for her successful season for Chelsea. She recorded 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game to average a double-double and crossed the 1,000-point mark for her career in January.
Her performances were key to the Hornets making their first Elite Eight appearance in Class 7A and just their third in history. Chelsea went 26-6 against a tough Class 7A schedule and finished runner-up in the area regular season and tournament.
She had big nights in the Hornets’ key games, including 31 points in the area semifinals against Oak Mountain to clinch a spot in regionals and 19 points and 18 rebounds in a double-double against Sparkman in the Sweet 16, the same team that Chelsea lost to in that round in 2023.
In addition, Trotter was named to the All-State First Team for Class 7A on Saturday, March 16 and her second-straight All-County First Team earlier in the month.
Now, she will put her skill on display against some of the top players from around the state ahead of her senior year for the Hornets.
