PELHAM – Residents of Pelham are preparing to clean out their garages and bring the antiques down from the attics as they get ready for the city’s first Indoor Community Yard Sale this March.

Organized by the city’s parks and recreation department, the sale is set to begin on Saturday, March 9 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Pelham Recreation Center’s Gymnasium located at 2020 Pelham Park Boulevard.

“This is our first year to offer this event,” said Alicia Walters, assistant director of Pelham’s Park and Recreation Department. “We love serving the community felt that we have the space to offer this great indoor event and we feel this will be a great way to bring the community together.”

For the inaugural event the city is offering residents the option to register for booths in the limited space that will allow them to feature their personal merchandise.

“This year we will have 20-22 12×12 booths and we already have folks registering to secure their booth,” Walters said.

The cost to register each booth is only $10 with a limit of two booth spaces per person. While the booth space itself is provided, event organizers wish to make it clear that those setting up booths will need to provide their own display tables and chairs.

Booth set up times will begin the day prior to the event on Friday, March 8 from 5 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and provided that the intention of the event is to allow residents the opportunity to display and sale personal and miscellaneous items in a “shop-and-go” style atmosphere, no commercial or business entities will be permitted to sale at the event.

Those seeking more information regarding the community yard sale are encouraged to visit the Pelham Parks and Rec website at Pelhamrec.recdesk.com/Community/Program/Detail?programId=773.
