A Montevallo man was sentenced to 480 years in prison on Tuesday for producing child pornography.
James Shawn Hulsey, 43, was convicted and sentenced on 16 counts of production of child pornography by U.S. District Judge Inge Johnson in Birmingham.
Hulsey and a female companion took explicit photographs of a male and female child. Some of the images were taken when the children were born. The incidents occurred in Bibb and Shelby counties.
“Hulsey’s abuse of this toddler and infant deserved every day of the 480 years he was sentenced by Judge Johnson,” said U.S. Attorney Alice H. Martin. “May the light of day be denied to anyone who would abuse a child in this manner.”
Johnson ordered Hulsey’s prison term be followed by supervised release for life, should he ever be released from prison. In addition, Hulsey must register as a sex offender.
