For the first time in two years, one of the county’s most popular festivals is making its return in June, and it’s coming back with a bang.
Alabaster’s CityFest will return June 4 to Thompson High School for the first time since COVID-19 began, and the headline acts will bring an exciting return.
Country star Lauren Alaina, 90s rock band Vertical Horizon and rising country star Elvie Shane will headline the event.
It could have been easy for the Alabaster Arts Council and the city of Alabaster to not go as big this year, knowing excitement for the return of the event would have been enough to draw a good-sized crowd.
However, they didn’t take the easy route and went for recognizable names with their lineup.
Now, the event will have plenty of buzz ahead of its return, which should drive a huge turnout.
It’s an exciting change from the past two years, as COVID-19 forced the events to be canceled.
Now, instead of doom and gloom that came along with that, we have the thrill of looking forward to summertime and the events that come along with it.
It seems as if the days of canceled events are behind us, and that is something that can impact us mentally in such a positive way moving forward.
Being able to have fun events to look forward to and take our minds off the everyday struggles that present themselves is key to living a healthy life, and the Alabaster Arts Council made sure it didn’t disappoint in the return of its biggest annual event.
It only makes sense, too, as this will be the 20th CityFest in Alabaster, making it an even more special return.
Not only that, admission is free, and there will be vendors, food trucks, a KidsFest area and a VIP area.
It’s not only a big return for the city of Alabaster, but it’s a big return for the county and its residents, who are accustom to the best quality of living in the state.
It’s just one part of what should be an incredible summer ahead in Shelby County.
