The Helena Festival originally scheduled for Friday evening, July 3, has been canceled based on a recommendation from Mayor Mark Hall.
A fireworks display will still be held July 3 at 9 p.m., however. Residents watching the fireworks show are asked to stay within their family group, wear masks and even stay in their vehicles if possible.

“After much consideration and discussion, a recommendation has been made by the mayor to cancel our July 3 Helena Festival event,” stated a press release from the Helena Business Association. “With the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases in Shelby county, we think it is (in) the best interest of our community to not have a large gathering at this time.”
