We are now less than five months from the presidential general election on Nov. 3 and the table is set for the ballots.

President Donald J. Trump is already on the campaign trail as we approach the August Republican Convention where he will receive the official nomination

Now that Joe Biden is the presumed Democratic nominee, he is searching for a vice presidential pick to complete the ticket.

Democrats are organizing for the fall working on both the election for Biden and to attempt to keep Doug Jones in the United States Senate.

However, they know they have an uphill battle in Alabama. It has been since 1976 and Jimmy Carter’s election that a Democrat won the vote for president in Alabama.

Before Doug Jones, it had been almost 30 years since the state has elected a Democrat to the Senate and that was Richard Shelby, who two years later switched to the Republican Party.

There will be a lot of money spent by Democrats in Alabama to influence the presidential and senate elections, but the state is still considered one of the most conservative and Republican states in the nation.

The year has already been so unpredictable, but do not expect any surprises in Alabama when it comes the general elections in the fall.

Voters will deliver Alabama to President Trump and send a Republican back to the United States Senate.
