Adeline Lee, a student at Thompson High School, was inducted into the 100 High School Students America Needs to Know About. She was chosen out of thousands of students.

Lee boasts a 4.6 weighted/4.0 unweighted GPA and will graduate from THS with an advanced diploma, with academic honors and as a valedictorian. Lee, who is also a cheerleader, has shown academic achievement, leadership skills and a strong promise for her career goals.

Her leadership skills are not only evident as the 2019-2020 THS Varsity Cheer Captain, but also through her involvement with several leadership organizations, such as the Youth Leadership Development Program, the University of Alabama Youth Leadership Summit, Youth Leadership Shelby County and Alabama Girls State, just to name a few.

Although many high school students are confused about their future plans, Lee is dedicated to her career goals in becoming a pharmacist. Throughout her high school academic career, she has maintained rigorous advanced placement classes as well as dual enrollment college courses.

She has been accepted into Samford University and was recently awarded early assurance into Samford University’s Pre-Pharmacy program.

If her meticulous academic and extra-curricular activities were not enough, Lee also works a part-time job at the ice rink at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.

100 High School Students America Needs to Know About is a national competition that showcases the next generation of forward-thinking entrepreneurs, student leaders, activists, radio hosts, designers and more, according to a news release. These students are making their mark in industries ranging from agriculture to the non-profit world. But most of all they are making a difference in their schools, communities and the lives of their peers.
