FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Shelby County Chamber and its collaborative partner, 58, INC., have established a COVID-19 Business Toolkit that is available on the Chamber’s website, Shelbychamber.org.
The toolkit has been created to provide Shelby County businesses with a one-stop location for resources and information they can use during the current business environment.
In addition to the Toolkit, the Chamber continues to encourage businesses throughout Shelby County to share what they are doing to navigate through these challenging times through its social media outlets. The goal of #ShopShelbyCounty is to share valuable information between all Shelby County businesses through a “virtual” networking forum. Business owners are encouraged to do that by posting.
In addition, through #ShopShelbyCounty, the Chamber is encouraging all consumers — businesses and individuals — to support their favorite restaurants, hotels, shops, salons, theaters, markets and other Shelby County businesses over the next several weeks by:
- Shopping online with Shelby County businesses
- Ordering food to go
- Using available curbside service for our groceries and other purchases
- Buying gift cards or certificates—to use now or for a later date (gift cards and certificates equal immediate cash flow, and cash flow is the lifeblood for Shelby County businesses)
- Where appropriate, tip as generously as you can
When posting on social media, use the hashtag #ShopShelbyCounty so that others can see what the Shelby County business community has to offer during this unique time.
The Chamber’s staff will be working with several agencies and 58, INC. to update the Business Toolkit to add additional resources which Shelby County businesses can access over the next several weeks. As additional resources are added, the Chamber and 58, INC. will keep the business community updated.
