Three Falcons named All-GSC

University of Montevallo placed three basketball players on the All-Gulf South Conference teams Monday, as junior guard Alicia Lewis was named to the All-GSC East First Team for the women, and Freddy Little was named All-GSC East First Team for the men. Nate Flowers was a Second Team selection for the men.

Lewis, a native of Youngsville, La., led Montevallo in the regular season with an average of 13.4 points per game, while starting all 27 games this season. She was the Falcons’ leading 3-point shooter with 59 on the year and top free throw shooter, hitting 64.8 percent of her foul shots. She also led UM with 86 assists and 37 steals. Her 961 minutes played this season, an average of 35.5 per game, are the second most of any GSC women’s player.

Little, a native of Raleigh, N.C., led UM with 16 points per game and a GSC-leading 73 3-point baskets made. His 60 assists and 33 steals were also team highs. Flowers was second in scoring for UM with 13.3 points per game. He led UM and the GSC East with 258 rebounds, which is good for second in the GSC overall.

Both Montevallo teams advance to this week’s Gulf South Conference Tournament in Southaven, Miss., as the No. 5 seed from the East.
