After nearly a decade of business, TreeTop Family Adventure located off Dunnavant Valley Road off U.S. 280 will be closing its doors.

The family entertainment facility, which features indoor activities such as laser tag, a laser maze and arcade games, as well as outdoor activities including go karts and miniature golf, has announced it will cease operation Sunday, Jan. 12.

“The decision to close was a tough one as we have loved serving the local community and getting a chance to meet so many wonderful people and groups,” said owner Richie Parrish. “We will miss seeing all the families and guests who have come out for a day of family fun and all the smiles and laughter from the children. We would like to thank everyone who has come out and supported us and our families for the past nine years.”

The decision follows a lengthy legal battle between TreeTop and Shelby County involving an access permit for a driveway, the financial burden of which Parrish said had made it impossible to continue operations.

“Over the years we have maintained a positive attitude about it and believed that we would be able to get it resolved in a manner that was in everyone’s best interest,” Parrish also said.

The company’s Facebook page stated, “Thank you to all who supported TreeTop Family Adventure and helped us bring safe, fun and wholesome entertainment to our community…we will miss you. God bless.”

TreeTop will continue to sell attraction passes and timed arcade play until the closing date. They will also honor any cards with balances through Jan. 12, according to its official Facebook page.
