PELHAM — There was plenty of bouncing going on Thursday, Oct. 24, as Altitude Trampoline Park in Pelham held its official grand opening and ribbon cutting.
The indoor park offers 30,000 square feet of trampolines and other equipment for everyone from toddlers to retired folks who are young at heart.
“We cater to all ages from infants all the way to (adults). My parents come here, and they’re in their 60s,” said General Manager Daniel L. Flowers.
At the other end of the age spectrum, there is a 5,000-square foot “soft play” area for toddlers and children 10 and under featuring padded flooring and foam equipment for a safe playtime experience.
“We keep it very sterile so we don’t allow shoes over there. Mothers and parents are very picky about cleanliness,” Flowers said.
Other areas of the park are geared more toward preteens, teenagers and adults, including extreme dodgeball, a foam pit with monkey bars and a diving board, and an open jump with competition-level trampolines.
“They’re very high-performance trampolines,” Flowers said.
Altitude also has “Friday Night Friendzy” on Friday nights and “Teen Night” Saturday nights when the park’s atmosphere is adjusted for preteens, teenagers and young adults. During these times there is dimmed lighting, louder music, a fog machine and different food items.
For those celebrating special days, there are private rooms as well as open tables for birthday parties and other events. An upstairs area has even more tables and bar stools so parents can watch over the whole park.
A full-fledged food area and arcade machines can be found on the bottom level near the open tables.
“It’s a very exciting business,” Flowers said. “I love the kids. I love seeing the smiles on the kids, the families, the teenagers. The environment just brings happiness. And I’ve got a great team of employees.”
Altitude is located at 8581 Helena Road. The park offers different rates depending on jump time, as well as special rates for children 6 and under. The park is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
