HELENA – The temperatures that have hovered in the upper 90s in recent weeks doesn’t coincide with fall weather, but cooler temperatures and fall colors aren’t far off, as the Helena Beautification Board prepares for its upcoming event.
The Helena Beautification Board is excited to announce a Fall Clean Up Day that will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Anyone willing to help is invited to join the beautification board to help spruce up Old Town Helena. The clean-up will consist of shaping up shrubs and roses, sprucing up planting beds, weeding and evaluating roses at the rose trial site and doing a general clean up in the Old Town area and at Helena City Hall. This will also be an opportune time for any Helena students trying to earn community service hours.
Volunteers should bring their own gardening tools and gloves in an effort to make Helena beautiful. All volunteers are asked to meet at the Caboose on Oct. 19 at 8 a.m.
“Our board has two main goals: to bring people together and to make Helena a beautiful place to live, work and shop,” Beautification Board Chairman Chris VanCleave said. “Our annual planting and clean up events help us accomplish those goals and we hope to see everyone there.”
