VINCENT – Hellbilly Hollow in Vincent will re-open to the public on Sept. 27 with its familiar three attractions for one admission price, new twists and special promotions.
The haunted house, cornfield and swamp will be open from 7-11:30 p.m. each Friday and Saturday through October, said Tim Miller, who manages the site with his brother David and James Srygley.
On hand for the opening weekend will be special guests Dead City Collective, a group of demented clowns whose performance includes breathing fire.
“You have to see them,” Tim Miller said. “They’re just really good performers.”
Also, on Saturday, Oct. 19, the stars of Hellbilly Hollow the Movie, Kurt Deimer and Kevin Wayne, will be on hand.
A kid friendly trick or treat is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 20.
A $1 cover charge will be required for entrance to the property on the days of special performers. Then, tickets will be sold separately for $20 each that will grant access to the three Hellbilly Hollow attractions: a haunted house, cornfield infested with aliens and a trailer ride through a swamp inhabited by crazy clowns.
“The haunted house is awesome this year,” Miller said about the need to make changes each year to keep the attractions fresh for regular visitors.
In previous years, guests went through the three attractions in order, which resulted in long lines at times. This year, Miller said people will be able to visit the attractions in any order they choose, which should reduce wait times.
Other amenities will include music, food trucks, Kona Ice and more.
Last year, about 5,000 people went through Hellbilly Hollow, Miller said, with an average of about 800 people per night. Even more people are expected this year, he said.
Miller added that managers take security seriously, as each visitor is checked for weapons, and there will be police presence on site.
Hellbilly Hollow is located at 425 Shelby County 467 in Vincent.
