Helena man charged with rape, robbery, escaping and kidnapping

A 27-year-old Helena man is being held in the Shelby County Jail after he was arrested June 7 and charged with counts of rape, kidnapping, escaping and robbery.
Terrance “Terry Jr.” Antonio Hudson, of Helena, was arrested at about 2 p.m. after a victim reported being robbed and raped by the man at about 5:15 a.m.
The victim, whose name is being withheld to protect her identity, told Helena police she was carjacked in Pelham and driven to Helena where she was robbed and raped in the parking lot of Watts apartments on Cunningham Drive in Helena.
After receiving the report, tactical officers from the Helena and Pelham police departments traveled to Hudson’s residence on Starkey Street in Helena, arrested him and charged him with one count of first-degree rape, one count of first-degree kidnapping and one count of third-degree robbery.
After Hudson arrived at the Helena Jail, he broke free from the transporting officer and was apprehended after a brief foot chase. He was then charged with one count of third-degree escape.
As of June 7, Hudson was being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000, but police had not yet set a bond for the escape charge.
