COLUMBIANA – A Vincent man was arrested on Monday, June 10, and charged with multiple crimes related to sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12.

Robert Jay Wilson, 38, who lists an address off Fleming Road in Vincent, was being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $195,000 as of the afternoon of Tuesday, June 11.

He has been charged with three counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old, four counts of first-degree sodomy and first-degree rape.

According to the warrants for Wilson’s arrest, the crimes were allegedly committed from June 1, 2012, through Dec. 31, 2013, at which point Wilson was 30 years old and the victim was under 12.

A preliminary hearing had not been set as of June 11.
