Post 555 hosts installation ceremony for new officers

PELHAM – American Legion Matthew Blount Post 555 installed new officers for 2019 at its May 2 meeting at the Pelham Senior Center.
Kenneth Paschal will lead Post 555 as post commander for the next year. Jerry McClain will serve as first vice commander. Nancy Waller will continue as second vice commander. Robert Horsley was elected to a three-year term as trustee. Members elected new officers for 2019 at the organization’s April 4 meeting.
Paschal retired as a first sergeant in the U.S. Army. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham, and is also the State President and Director of Governmental Affairs for the Alabama Family Rights Association.
McClain is the senior pastor of Kingdom Christian Center in Pelham. He served for 25 years in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Ranger and retired as a command sergeant major.
Waller retired as a major in the Alabama Army National Guard. Since 2006, she has served as secretary/treasurer of the Enlisted National Guard Association of Alabama.
Horsley is a retired major from the U.S. Army Special Forces. He is also Ranger and Airborne qualified. He worked for AT&T as an engineer and has also owned and operated various businesses in the equine industry. He is currently a volunteer firefighter with the Brierfield Volunteer Fire Department and also serves on the board of directors for the BVFD.
