CHELSEA — A new automotive customization shop called Elite Offroad and Performance recently opened its doors to the Chelsea community on April 6.

The business was conceived and created as the product of years of diligent work between co-owners Josh Balch and Patrick Murrah.

The shop mainly offers services like “aftermarket customization for trucks, jeeps, suvs and offroad vehicles,” according to Balch. “Our main customers are on the offroad side of the industry.”

Other services and products offered include lift kits, wheels, LED lights, aftermarket seats, truck bed covers, drivetrain gearing, full service alignment, 4×4 services, towing and hauling accessories, brake services and other custom products.

Balch explained that he and Murrah both came from backgrounds relating to automotive customization and offroad vehicles, and that this shop was an opportunity to fill the absence of this type of business in the area.

Prior to Elite’s opening, Murrah said there were no customization shops available in the local community which has allowed the shop to thrive.

“They’ve been looking for something like this for quite a while,” Murrah explained. “The community has been so good to us since we’ve been here.”

“We’ve had such a huge influx of customers,” Balch said. “We have had people walking in every day since we opened asking about quotes for their projects.”

Elite Offroad and Performance is located at 14555 U.S. 280 in Chelsea and is open 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays.
